I was quite public about my dislike of multiple walls covered in wallpaper when this trend went out of style many years ago. Although, like anything else in life, it all comes back and hits you in the rear end. This is now the hottest trend forecast for the coming year. I do however believe it'll take a little more convincing for those who had to remove that awful wall covering that was glued to the wall like white on rice. We all remember trying to pry the paper off the walls while wiping our tear-soaked cheeks as we watched the paper come off in 2 inch strips. Three days later, you were done one room out of an entire paper covered home!
Tissue and softer colored papers create a unique design that's affordable and delicate enough for a little girl's room-or rough and complex enough to fit into a den. Tissue paper comes in a wide variety of colors to suit any design. They also can easily be mottled with various stains, paints or glazes to create an overlying texture and complexity to any wallpaper wall art design. Complex designs and intricate patterns can be created using a wide variety of cheap and disposable materials. Magazine pictures create awesome collages with ease. Old postcards create a design theme that can take you around the world. Old Chinese newspapers can create the perfect backdrop to any Asian inspired space. Being creative with your wallpaper design might be cheap, but it can look like a million bucks once it's complete.
Exploring New Wallpaper Designs. One of the most exciting characteristics of wallpaper is the fact that there are so many designs to choose from. In fact, wallpaper doesn't have to be simply about repeating a certain pattern. Mural wall coverings, for example, allow you to create a beautiful or intriguing scene on your wall. Or, you might choose to incorporate textured wall coverings into your décor. From animal textures to grass cloth designs, the possibilities are endless. You can even find designs made with fake fur, feathers, and gypsum rock. You can also create a very unique and delicate look with handmade wallpaper designs.
Wallpaper Shelves, here is an easy wallpaper decorating idea that will add a fun pop of color and pattern to any space. Try adding a great patterned paper to the back of a shelf or cabinet. You don't even need to use real wallpaper for this one. Any quality craft or wrapping paper will work great as well. Measure and cut your paper to size. Apply your paper to back of the shelf using strong double stick tape. It's that easy to take furniture you already have to the next level. This simple addition of paper can really make a big impact in any space.
